Spaghetti Bolognese Sauce Recipe Ingredients: 1 onion 2 T olive oil 1/4 t salt 4 tomatoes (ripe, medium) 1 T sugar 1/4 t basil 1/4 t oregano 3 clv garlic 1 onion 2 carrots 1 1/2 lb lean ground beef 3 T olive oil 1/2 t salt 1/2 t thyme 1/2 t ground black pepper 1 c white wine 1 lb spaghetti 4 oz parmesan cheese (grated) Instructions:  FOR THE BOLOGNESE SAUCE:Chop the onion and cook over low heat for 10 minutes in a large saucepan with two tablespoons of olive oil and salt.Peel and dice the tomatoes and add them to the saucepan with the sugar to cut the acidity (add your favorite spices as basil or oregano).  Cook the vegetables over low heat for 12 to 15 minutes. Use an immersion or stand blender to puree the mixture into a sauce and set aside.Peel cloves of garlic and chop onion, cloves of garlic and carrots. Cook over low heat for 12 -15 minutes in a large skillet with 3 tablespoons of olive oil.Sprinkle with salt, ground black pepper the lean ground beef.Add lean ground beef to a large skillet, sprinkle thyme and cook and stir over medium heat for 5 - 6 minutes.Add white wine and cook for 15 - 17 minutes more, letting the alcohol evaporate.Pour the tomato sauce (step 3.) in to the large skillet and mix.   FOR THE PASTA: Bring a pot of slightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions (10 - 12 minutes).When done drain off the water.Mix pasta with the homemade Bolognese sauce and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on the top.Serve and enjoy your Spaghetti Bolognese recipe.
